We give thanks to the Lord for our Region 2 Gathering at the Bishan Salvation Army on 20 February 2009. Instead of having the usual "Vision Night", the organizing committee decided on three main objectives: (1) Bond Region 2 members; (2) Honour our leaders; and (3) Appreciate our cell hosts.
The evening started with a sumptuous buffet dinner with an eleven round-table seating arrangement. After dinner, we had an ice-breaker followed by a time of vibrant worship. Thereafter, we had two games - "Maximizing Our Potential" and "Call Out My Name".
Then we came to the highlight of the evening, that is, the presentation of tokens of appreciation to our ZSs, CLs, ACLs and cell hosts. The various cell leaders also declared in a sentence their cell goal(s) for 2009. That was sealed by a time of intense prayer led by our RP after his brief pastoral challenge.
We concluded the gathering with a symbolic tossing of Yu Sheng. It was a memorable and meaningful evening. To God be the glory!

"Wow! You mean they are celebrating Christmas outside the four walls of their church?"
"Yes, and they are inviting us to join them!"
Imagine the excitement the people in the community must have felt on 19 December 2008. It was a Friday night with a difference... Christmas had come early, and nearer to them. Over one hundred and thirty adults and children from the neighbourhood joined Region 2 Bethelites for a time of Christmas carols, food and celebration.
Christmas is a time of rejoicing... just as angels and shepherds alike rejoiced over the birth of the Saviour of the world (Luke 2:8-20  ).
Christmas is a time of giving... just as God gave of His beloved Son (John 3:16 ).
Christmas is for all peoples... just as Jesus "went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness" (Matthew 9:35 ) and commanded his disciples to be His witnesses "in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8 ).
We are glad to have brought the love of God and Christmas joy to the people in the community. Keep up the good work Region 2 Bethelites!

Who do we belong?
The day is 3 May 09. I am on afternoon shift. I had decided to go to Orchard Road Presbyterian Church. Simply because I could woke up slightly later as the service started at 9am, and the distance is shorter compare with Bethel Assembly of God. I expect a formal, peaceful service, but it turn out quite different. The preacher was preaching from John 8:31-47. Honor your parent
I have been visiting City Harvest Church website to listen to Ps Kong Hee preaching about relationship. One sentence keep repeating in my mind, "The place of agreement is the place of power. The place of disagreement is the place of powerlessness." Ps Kong applied this to husband and wife relationship, but he didn't rule out this can be applied to other relationships.
