"Wow! You mean they are celebrating Christmas outside the four walls of their church?"
"Yes, and they are inviting us to join them!"

Imagine the excitement the people in the community must have felt on 19 December 2008. It was a Friday night with a difference... Christmas had come early, and nearer to them. Over one hundred and thirty adults and children from the neighbourhood joined Region 2 Bethelites for a time of Christmas carols, food and celebration.

Christmas is a time of rejoicing... just as angels and shepherds alike rejoiced over the birth of the Saviour of the world (Luke 2:8-20 ).

Christmas is a time of giving... just as God gave of His beloved Son (John 3:16 ).

Christmas is for all peoples... just as Jesus "went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness" (Matthew 9:35 ) and commanded his disciples to be His witnesses "in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8 ).

We are glad to have brought the love of God and Christmas joy to the people in the community. Keep up the good work Region 2 Bethelites!

Hi Region 2,

There are a several things to do on this region website:

1) Make a sharing

2) Make Prayer Requests

3) Cell group bulletins

4) Private Messaging to each other.

However some of the functions are not working too well yet as we are not too familiar with the church's web server setup. For example, you should be able to upload images to your sharing but it doesn't work right now. And for some other functions, they are not as intuitive as we would like. To make things a little better, there will be a series of how to guides coming up. Do wait for it and in the mean time. If you are a Bethel Region 2 Cell member/leader, do sign up on the site and create your cell group. AMK 1 is already in so you can see them on the cell group list. Feel free to drop me a message if you require assistance. Leave us a feedback on our uservoice feedback board and we'll try to make things better.

God Bless,

Your friendly administrator

Hi people,

Do leave your sharing here at the region website. If you happen to have a verse (i.e. John 3:16 ) Just type it in this format "book" "chaper":"verse" and it will automatically create a link to the verse for you. The audio version will also be available.

Enjoy...

CROSSING OVER! PDF Print E-mail

As we begin the New Year, some make resolutions, while others start fresh commitments. Whether it is striving for greater work-life balance, getting involved in a ministry, or having a closer walk with God, we can all learn from the experience of the Israelites in their crossing over to the other side of the Jordan River.

  1. LOOK UP – “get ready to cross the Jordan River” Joshua 1:2 The command and approval comes from God. We must look up as a way of reminding ourselves that God always goes before us when we are doing His will in our lives.
  2. LOOK IN – “Consecrate yourselves” Joshua 3:5 Before that first step of crossing over, each of us needs to examine our lives. We need to evaluate how close we are to God’s plan.
  3. LOOK BACK – “just (as) what he had done to the Red Sea” Joshua 4:23 We look back so that we remember God has always helped us make the crossings in the past. Joshua's faith was further strengthened based on previous experience with God in crossing the Red Sea.
  4. LOOK FORWARD – “tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you” Joshua 3:5 As we think about how to respond to “the crossings of life” that lie ahead of us, we can anticipate that God has many more miracles in store for us.

Let us therefore cross over with faith, courage and God’s strength in 2009!
